Industrial Layout and Design Engineer

Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Layout and Design Engineer to join our growing dynamic team! The ideal candidate will have experience designing and optimizing plant layouts to maximize efficiency, safety, and workflow. This position is ideal for someone with a solid background in industrial design, mechanical design or mechanical engineering, particularly in the manufacturing of complex components like truck bodies. About the Position

Key Responsibilities and Focus:

Plant Layout: Design and layout production lines in a new 67,000 sq. ft. facility. The main goal is to create a layout that minimizes material handling, reduces waste, and maximizes production flow.

Fixture and Tooling Design: Develop new fixtures and tooling for the manufacturing of truck bodies.

Technical Drawings: Create detailed drawings for fabrication (including parts, tools, and workstations) to be sent to the fabrication work center.

Collaboration with Senior Leadership:Work directly with the Senior Leadership Team to improve all work center production processes.

Process Improvement: Assist with optimizing production processes and workflows.

About You

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, BSME preferred
  • Expertise in the design and optimization of assembly lines, production processes, or warehouse systems
  • Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, etc.) and 3D modeling tools
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in facility layout design required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in equipment design and creating engineering/product drawings for mechanical components(bill of materials generation included) required
  • Requires a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, facility design, and advanced planning
  • Hands-on mechanical skills required
  • Experience in automotive, sheet metal, or steel design is a plus
  • Familiarity with CRM/ERP software required (Salesforce & Rootstock is a plus)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 annually,negotiable based on experience
